WhatsApp’s Latest Updates: A Guide to What’s New (2).
Exploring More WhatsApp Goodies.
Welcome to the second part of our WhatsApp journey! In this part, we're going to explore more cool things you can do with WhatsApp. We'll learn how to share stuff and make groups without any fuss.
Separate Video Mode
WhatsApp has made taking photos and videos simpler. They've added a special button for recording videos, like your phone's camera. Before, you had to press and hold the button to record a video, but now it's easier to use. You can switch between video and photo modes.
Voice Status
You can now send voice messages as status updates on WhatsApp.
Go to the 'Status' tab.
lick the 'pencil' icon at the bottom.
Tap the 'microphone' icon on the next screen.
Record your voice message for up to 30 seconds.
Status Profile Rings
You can now check your contacts' statuses right from the chat screen. Look for a green ring on their profile picture and tap it to see their status.
Companion Mode
WhatsApp now lets you use your account on two extra phones using Companion mode. You can now use WhatsApp on both an Android and an iPhone without getting kicked out of your main phone. Turn on this mode, and you're good to go.
Status Link Previews
When you share a web link in your status, it actually shows a tiny picture from that link. This helps your friends get an idea of what's in the link without having to click it first.
Photo upload quality
WhatsApp now has a feature to prevent your photos from losing quality when you send them. You can find it in the 'Storage and data' section under Settings, called 'Photo upload quality.' This allows you to select the highest quality for your image uploads.
Send Full-Resolution Images
Now, on WhatsApp, you have the option to send higher-quality images. But it's good to keep in mind that these images won't stay exactly as they were. Instead, they'll look a bit better than when you send them the usual way.
Create a Group without Entering a Name on WhatsApp
This feature is great when you need to make a group fast, but you're not sure what to call it. No worries, though! These groups won't be without a name. Each person will get a special group name based on how they've saved their contacts on their own phones. So, it's going to be a unique name for everyone in the group.
WhatsApp Share Screen
Now, like you can on Zoom, you can share your screen during WhatsApp video calls. This cool feature works, whether you're calling from an Android phone to an iPhone, from one Android phone to another, or vice versa. It's hassle-free! The feature doesn't care about which type of phone you're using; it works for each of them.
Start a video call.
At the bottom of the screen, you'll see a "Share" icon.
Give the app permission.
Double Tap to React to Messages
WhatsApp has introduced a nifty new feature. You can react to messages with a double tap. It's simple: double-tap a message and you'll send a thumbs-up emoji as your reaction.
WhatsApp Channel
WhatsApp's got something new – it's called Channels. These let you keep up with your favorite people and organizations. You'll spot them in the "Updates" tab alongside your Status updates. Channel admins can send all sorts of stuff – text, photos, videos, stickers, and even polls. Following them is a breeze, either from the directory or through invite links. Your privacy is safe – the admins won't see your phone number or profile pic.
Creating a WhatsApp channel on your Android is quick and easy. Follow these steps:
Open WhatsApp and head to the Updates tab.
Tap the '+' sign and select "New channel."
Click "Get Started" and follow the onscreen instructions.
To finish, add a name for your channel.
Now, let's make it yours:
Include a channel description.
Upload a cool channel icon.
Tap "Create channel” and you're all set! Your channel is ready to roll. Enjoy!
Conclusion
So, in this part of our WhatsApp adventure, we've seen how to do some neat stuff on WhatsApp. Whether you're sharing pictures or chatting on different devices, WhatsApp makes it easy. We hope you've enjoyed learning about these cool features, and there's more to come!
